WIRELINE CORING BITS CORE BARRELS

To do core drilling (or sample extraction) it is necessary to use a coring bit.

The selection of the core bit depends mainly on the formation characteristics where the core drilling will be done.

Technidrill offers a wide selection of core bits adapted to wireline coring.

Eagle coring bits impregnated

General characteristics

This is the most commonly used coring bit, in the mining exploration field as well as in the geotechnical industry. This kind of bit is adapted to a wide choice of formations: the different rock types, hardnesses, granulations and abrasiveness can be seen from the selection chart here. Different matrixes are a result of continuous evolution, in the same time than the evolution of the carbide powder and synthetic diamonds evolution.

Pelican coring bits surface set

 General characteristics

Surface set diamond bits are manufactured with a selection of natural diamonds set into a hard to extra hard matrix on the working faces of the bit.

It’s possible to use this kind of bit for differents formations, to choose differents combinations like : profil, size and number of stones,… . All of our PELICAN bit are water way reinforced by car- bide ring.

Racoon / cougar coring bits – PDC

Beaver coring bits – Broken carbide

General characteristics

This tool is made with tungsten carbide carbide, suspended in a metal alloy and embedded in a steel body.Beaver coring bits used the same principle as the diamond impregnated bits : the cutting part is automatically regenerated with the appearance of new cutting edges during drilling.

Beaver coring bits has more sharp edges than other carbide coring bits and it can be used in a wider variety of applications, including shale, chalk, gypsum and volcanic tuff.

Bluefox / Redfox coring bits – Carbide

General characteristics

Bluefox / Redfox coring bits can be used in a wider variety of applications, including: Limestone, Chalk, Clay, Shale…
